Ten months ago, we set out to build a new movement in Anchorage’s legacy of public schools. With many “firsts” achieved during this marathon campaign, it looks like we will soon be clearing the biggest of them all – the first past the post!
At the time of this writing, the finish line is clearly in sight. The latest unofficial election results show us outpacing our closest opponent by 15.5%. Earning over 46% of the votes in a multi-candidate race is a massive achievement and a testament to our shared vision of a stronger, more inclusive school district.
Mark your calendars and tune in to the ASD School Board meeting on May 2nd at 6 pm. We will recognize the well-deserved retirement of School Board Member Andy Holleman and honor his many years of dedicated service to our schools as he officially passes the torch for this new chapter in Anchorage’s history.
Quyanaakcaq. Thank you for following this campaign and showing your support in so many ways. Whether you read these updates, volunteered, donated, or shared our messages on social media, I am proud to say your dedication helped pave a new path for Anchorage’s kids.
With enthusiasm,
Paasa
